Two new rides from the GS family, plus a new scooter for urban mobility.
Bangkok. BMW Motorrad Thailand is once again ready to dazzle the adventurous spirit of Thai bikers with the unveiling of two new bikes from the legendary GS family – the new
BMW F 750 GS and F 850 GS – that live up to the F-Series’ incredible onroad and offroad credentials. Joining the two is the new BMW C 400 X, the latest member in BMW Motorrad’s Urban Mobility range to offer exceptional agility in every corner and a full range of convenient features that promise to make every urban jaunt a fun and memorable occasion.
Mr. Markus Glaeser, Head of BMW Motorrad Thailand, said, “After the arrival of the
BMW F 800 GS in 2015, we are bringing back the enduro excitement with two new bikes in the BMW F 750 GS and BMW F 850 GS. Both bikes deliver superb design and performance that combine into the definitive experience of joy on two wheels – complete with excellent agility on the road, touring-style comfort, and the heart and soul of an offroad adventurer. The F 750 GS and F 850 GS are also the latest additions to our range of locally assembled motorcycles and further proof of our plant’s outstanding capabilities.”
“Furthermore, we are also adding a touch of variety to the BMW Motorrad lineup with the BMW C 400 X, a new alternative for agile urban mobility that will lead you on a fun and comfortable ride through the Bangkok traffic.”
The new BMW F 750 GS
The latest member of the GS family – the new BMW F 750 GS – is designed for all riders who prefer the sensation and aesthetics of a travel enduro with a lowered seat height. Powered by a 853-cc water-cooled in-line two-cylinder engine, the BMW F 750 GS delivers a power output of 57 kW (77 hp) at 7,500 rpm and up to 83 Nm torque at 6,000 rpm. The bike is engineered to meet the requirements of the EU4 pollutant class and has received enhancements to reduce unwanted vibrations with the two new counterbalance shafts working alongside the
6-speed gearbox positioned on the left-hand side.
The new steel bridge frame in monocoque construction of the new BMW F 750 GS offers benefits in terms of torsional rigidity and robustness. Meanwhile, the new telescopic fork and double-sided aluminum swing arm with hydraulically adjustable central spring strut combine to provide sharp, responsive handling. ‘Rain’ and ‘Road’ driving modes work in tandem with BMW Motorrad ABS and ASC (Automatic Stability Control) to ensure plenty of riding enjoyment and enhanced safety no matter the challenge ahead.
The Exclusive Style model adds extra riding fun with the inclusion of Pro riding modes, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), and Dynamic ESA with ABS Pro.
The design of the new BMW F 750 GS retains the dynamic and masculine characteristics of the GS family. The new LED headlight gives the front an especially striking visual appeal, while the 19- and 17-inch cast aluminum wheels emphasize the bike’s offroad capabilities. The BMW F 750 GS comes in two color variants: Austin Yellow Metallic and Stereo Metallic Matt (Exclusive Style).
The new BMW F 850 GS
The new BMW F 850 GS features even more distinctive touring characteristics coupled with supreme offroad capabilities. The new model is powered by the same 853-cc water-cooled in-line two-cylinder engine as its sibling but generates more power output at 70 kW (95 hp) at 8,250 rpm with a max torque of 92 Nm at 6,250 rpm. The BMW F 850 GS also comes with a closed-loop 3-way catalytic converter that meets EU4 pollutant standard.
Like the F 750 GS, the new BMW F 850 GS carries the new steel bridge frame in monocoque construction to offer enhanced riding precision, while the upgraded suspension now comes with an upside-down telescopic fork and twin aluminum swing arms to offer inimitable handling on offroad tracks. The standard ‘Rain’ and ‘Road’ riding modes allow riders to skillfully venture through all kinds of terrain.
The Exclusive Style model exudes a distinctive sense of adventure with the addition of Pro riding modes – ‘Dynamic’, ‘Enduro’ and ‘Enduro Pro’ – along with a range of innovations such as Dynamic ESA, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Keyless Ride and ABS Pro.
Atop the F 850 GS, riders can easily master offroad challenges thanks to the 21- and 17-inch cross spoke wheels. The strong look of the F 850 GS is further enhanced by new bold accents and new LED headlamps. The new BMW F 850 GS is offered in Light White Uni (Rallye Style) and Pollux Metallic Matt (Exclusive Style).
